Background
The Snohomish School District Board of Directors established a broad-based, independent Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) in March of 2003. This committee was asked to evaluate the condition of all district facilities and make recommendations for improvements and additional school facilities based on enrollment projections. To get this done, committee members spent 2,800 hours getting to the heart of matters in our schools. They:
Based on the CFAC recommendations, a $141.5 capital facilities bond was placed before voters in May 2004.

2007 CFAC
In 2007 the Board of Directors appointed a new CFAC to review current facilities needs in the district and present a recommendation. This led to the 2008 capital facilities bond for $261.6 million, approved by voters May 20, 2008.
