We want to provide you with an update to let you know of our district’s decision to move forward with the Aquatic Center.
At the February 7, 2012, Snohomish City Council meeting, the council voted 6-1 to approve an Interlocal Agreement between the city and school district to provide the water and sewer to operate the facility at the site of our current Maple Avenue Campus. We are now finishing the design and expect to go to bid this spring. Construction is projected to take 12-16 months, and the facility opening is expected fall 2013. In March of this year, we anticipate having project renderings available to share with you.
More than 50 swimmers, students, parents, civic group leaders, business owners and community members attended last evening’s Snohomish City Council meeting. Your presence and voice in support of this project was important. Thanks for supporting this project. We will keep you updated.
