More than 7,500 pounds of food and other grocery items benefitting the Snohomish Community Food Bank were recently collected by District students and staff at community food drives.
"We are so blessed to live in such an extraordinary community,” said Elizabeth Grant, Executive Director of the Snohomish Community Food Bank. "We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support from our District students, the District's PSE employees and our community. You are an amazing group!"
On Saturday, Nov. 6, District PSE employees held a "Stuff The Bus" promotion at the Snohomish Station Fred Meyer. More than 3,200 pounds of food were collected at that event for the Snohomish Community Food Bank. On Saturday, Nov. 13, the Panther Pals and Grizzly Cubs student groups collected more than 4,300 pounds of food at their food bank event held at Glacier Peak High School.
“The outpouring of support for our community is so inspiring,” said Grant. “Besides these two weekend food drives, many Snohomish schools have year-round food donation programs that are of such benefit to those who need it most. The amount of food collected by you for the Snohomish Community Food Bank is absolutely remarkable. Thank you!”
