Snohomish students nominated for Snohomish County Scholastic Art Awards

 

69 Snohomish School District students have been nominated for the Snohomish County Scholastic Art Awards of 2011. There were 558 entries in this year's regional competition. The winning entries included 5 American Vision Best of Show Recipients, 122 Gold Key, 132 Silver Key and 299 Honorable Mentions.

An awards ceremony honoring American Vision, Gold and Silver Key recipients will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. in Everett. Honorable Mention certificates will be given to teachers to be distributed at school.

 

The exhibit opening will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Historic Monte Cristo, 1507 Wall St. in Everett. Additional gallery hours are:

  • Monday, Feb. 14, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday through Friday, Feb. 16 to 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 19, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Monday through Tuesday, Feb. 21 to 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Feb., 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All of the entries will be on display during the exhibit. After the exhibit, American Vision and Gold Key winning artwork will be sent in digital form to New York for the National Scholastic Art Awards competition.
