Inclusion Preschool Program open for enrollment

Typically developing District preschoolers, between the ages of 3 to 5 years of age, are invited to apply for participation in the district’s Special Education preschool classes for the 2011-2012 school year. Tuition is $250 per month for a four-day-a-week, half-day session. Students will be with same-age peers who qualify for special education preschool services.

Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays at Central Elementary. Morning sessions are 8:25 a.m. until 11:25 a.m. and afternoon sessions are 12:30 p.m. until 3:10 p.m. Other locations may open depending upon enrollment.

The benefits of having children enrolled in the Snohomish School District’s Inclusion Preschool Program include:

  • Children will gain an increased understanding and acceptance of diversity and individual differences.
  • Children will develop meaningful friendships and get to participate in a quality preschool program.
  • The curriculum focuses on cognitive, motor, social, language and self-help skills using a child-centered, “play-based” approach to learning.
  • Instructors are highly trained personnel including certificated special education preschool teachers, and assistants, speech therapists, and occupational and physical therapists.
