The elected school board is responsible for the education of our students and for the business of running the school district. The superintendent is selected by the board of directors to serve as secretary to the board and to handle day-to-day running of the school district.
William A. Mester, Ph.D. has served as superintendent of Snohomish School District since July 1, 2002. Read his welcome letter to parents.
The board and Dr. Mester are committed to maintaining an environment of openness and transparency. Citizens and students are routinely involved in decision-making. Information and feedback from community stakeholders are regularly sought.
The superintendent's office is responsible for anything relating to school board business, preparing for board meetings, community and media relations, answering public information requests, flyer and information distribution, and policy development.
