Career and Technical Student Organizations put your skills to the test, and help you learn, grow and compete. Depending on your Career and Technical Education courses, you have these student leadership organizations available to you.

Join a student organization to:

*       Learn more about careers, and about post-high school education and training options

*       Develop leadership skills that will prepare you for college and career

*       Test your skills at local, regional, state or national competitions

Snohomish Schools have eight recognized student organizations affiliated with the following Washington State CTE Organizations:

Washington DECA
In DECA you can connect to the world of marketing and business outside the classroom. DECA members are teamed with business professionals for job shadowing and mentoring programs to give you an enormous head start on your career.

Manage and work in the school store, work on marketing project teams, and become involved in civic activities that make a difference in our community.

Washington FFA
FFA provides challenging coursework and hands-on experiences in agriculture education classes ranging from Animal Science and Agricultural Biotechnology to Plant Science and Alternative Energy.

Washington State Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
Travel with friends to events and competitions; practice and test your skills in local, state and national competition; and learn how to lead. These are the benefits to the students served by FCCLA. Their career interests are in education, food, hospitality, interior decorating, and textiles (sewing, fashion.)

FCCLA focuses on the roles of family member, wage earner and community leader. Members develop skills for life including:

*       Character development

*       Creative and critical thinking

*       Interpersonal communication

FBLA gives students a professional edge, current professional information and valuable connections to business and industry partners

Gain leadership skills by planning and participating in community service, developing speaking and presentation skills, attending conferences and networking.

SkillsUSA Washington
SkillsUSA is a national organization for students exploring trade, industrial, technical health and service-related careers. Areas of competition include architectural drafting, construction, carpentry computer programming, web design and other technical fields.

This organization promotes superior work skills, life-long education, leadership, teamwork, citizenship and community service among its student members. It also strives to build and reinforce self-confidence, work ethic and communication skills.

Washington Technology Student Association
Interested in careers in architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, film/video production, graphic arts or other technical areas? TSA is the only student leadership organization devoted exclusively to students interested in technology.

Washington Vocational Sports Medicine Association
Network with professionals, gain career and college readiness skills in sports medicine and related careers, and learn how to help others develop, grow and succeed on and off the field.

WVSMA is dedicated to ensuring high-quality athletic medicine and healthcare at middle and high schools, and to raising awareness about health quality among school administrators, coaches, athletes, students and the general public

Washington First Robotics

First Robotics is a club for students interested in engineering, robotics, and technology.

First Robotics is available at Glacier Peak High School
