We accept applications for substitute paraeducators when the position is posted.  Please check the list of current openings to see if the position is open at this time.

 

All applicants must apply through the on-line program.  To apply as a substitute para-educator, please follow the application instructions on the job posting which will include a list of all required materials.  Additional application materials can be found on the Classified Opportunities & Forms page.

 

General Process:

Once Human Services has received your completed application paperwork, the following is a brief outline of the classified substitute process:

  • You will need to take the Para-Educator test which is given periodically through the school year.  Once your application is complete, you will be notified by Human Services to schedule a test date. The test is a "pen and paper" basic skills test.  All scheduled testing will be held at the Resource Service Center, 1601 Avenue D, Snohomish. 
  • You may be scheduled for a brief interview.
  • After your test, you will be notified to come to Human Services to complete pre-employment paperwork.   Once completed, you will receive information for the Sub On-Line program which will allow you access to book jobs on-line.
