High school students in Snohomish have many options to choose from as they plan their course of study. The district offers traditional programs at Glacier Peak (GPHS) and Snohomish (SHS) High Schools. AIM High School provides an alternative program. A wide range of electives offers students opportunities to pursue interests and explore career choices. Through programs such as Running Start, College in the High School, or Tech Prep, students can earn both high school and college credit. Pathway programs allow students to deepen an interest in a chosen field to prepare them for entry-level jobs or further education.

Honors/Advanced Placement (AP) Courses: College-level AP courses are available in a wide variety of topics at both GPHS and SHS, and AP examinations are offered annually.
Career and Technical Programs
Students can explore career interests by taking individual courses in a specific field, or by following one of the specific pathways for several years, in topics such as machining/welding, computer-aided design, marketing and business, agricultural science, or biotechnology. College credits are also available.
Tech Prep is an industry and education partnership committed to providing a highly-trained and motivated workforce. Classes offered at GPHS and SHS can earn credit at Bellevue, Edmonds, or Everett Community Colleges.
College credits can be earned through some programs held at Sno-Isle Tech, a technical high school located near Paine Field in Everett. Sno-Isle is a cooperative effort of 14 local school districts to provide students with skills to prepare them for entry-level jobs after high school, or for related post-high school education or training. Students can attend half-day programs at Sno-Isle with transportation provided.
College in the High School: Students may earn college credit through Everett Community College by taking specific GPHS/SHS courses. These courses are subject to community college approval on an annual basis.
Running Start Program is a partnership between the local community colleges and high schools that gives juniors and seniors the opportunity to take college-level courses tuition free on the college campus. These credits can apply toward both high school graduation and future college degrees.
Alternative Programs
AIM High School is an alternative program for those who have not found success in a traditional school setting. AIM works with students to earn their high school diploma, while individualizing their education as needed. AIM students can also participate in Sno-Isle Tech, Running Start, APEX Online Learning, and classes at Glacier Peak and Snohomish High Schools, if appropriate, and if they can provide their own transportation. More information.
Parent Partnership Program is designed to serve the needs of homeschoolers and their families, and offers core academic classes and electives for K-12 students.
APEX Online Learning provides opportunities for students to work on credit acceleration and credit retrieval with both core and Advanced Placement subjects. Summer and night programs are also available.
Re-Entry Program is a temporary program for high school students who need to earn credits prior to re-entering a high school program. GED preparation is also available through the Re-entry program for those students who need to obtain a certificate in lieu of a high school diploma.
