Both the Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy and the Replacement Levy for Technology, Safety and Facility Improvements expire at the end of 2026. The proposed replacement levies would continue this important local funding through 2030.
The Snohomish School District community has a long tradition of supporting our schools and ensuring students have access to the programs, staff, and opportunities they need to succeed. Proposals to replace both expiring levies will be on the February 10, 2026, ballot. This four-year levy proposal, beginning in 2027, maintains the current total projected tax rates of:
- $1.80 for the Educational Programs & Operations Replacement Levy
- $0.60 for the Replacement Levy for Technology, Safety, and Facility Improvements
These levies help fill the gap between what the state funds and what it really takes to provide a full and rich learning experience in safe and secure schools for Snohomish School District’s almost 9,900 students.

At its October 22 meeting, the Snohomish School District Board of Directors unanimously voted to place two replacement levies on the February 10, 2026, ballot - the Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy and the Replacement Levy for Technology, Safety, and Facility Improvements.
These are not new taxes. These measures would replace the current levies approved by voters in 2022, which expire at the end of 2026. Local levies help bridge the gap between what the state funds and what it actually costs to educate Snohomish students - supporting staffing, classroom programs, technology, safety, activities, and facility improvements that benefit every student, every day. Currently our elementary schools are at capacity and growth projections for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year show our numbers will steadily increase. This growth is driven by multiple residential developments in various stages of planning and construction on both the north and south ends of the district. Given these capacity constraints and anticipated enrollment increases, the district has closed elementary schools to new Choice Transfer and variance students for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year and for the 2026–2027 school year.

The Snohomish Education Foundation (SEF) Local Scholarship Program (LSP) offers a variety of scholarships to graduating seniors in the Snohomish School District. This year's application window will be open February 3-March 3.

This year Snohomish School District is in the process of a curricular resource adoption for 4th through 8th grade science and high school Business Math.

We’re excited to share that beginning this school year, elementary schools in the Snohomish School District will be using a newly designed report card. The updated report card simplifies grading so it’s easier to understand a child’s progress toward grade-level standards.
