About Our District

  • The Snohomish School District is located in Snohomish County in the State of Washington. We are nestled in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, a short drive from either the blue waters of the Puget Sound or the snow-capped Cascade Mountains. Located only 30 miles north of Seattle, Snohomish is a charming semi-rural community with easy access to the cultural and entertainment events of the greater Seattle area.

District Demographics

  • The district serves about 9,416 (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction Report Card) students in kindergarten through grade 12 within an area that encompasses 128 square miles and serves about 58,300 residents.

    The Snohomish School District has an outstanding staff of full and part-time employees. This includes about 558 teaching staff (certificated) and about 420 classified staff. Our teachers have an average of 15 years’ experience; 64.2% have at least a Master’s degree.

    The district has 3 high schools, 2 middle schools, 10 elementary schools, a preschool, and an alternative program for home-school families.
