Athletic Conditioning and Drill Sessions
Some of our athletic programs have begun conducting conditioning and drill opportunities for our student-athletes. These off-season sessions are optional for athletes and coaches and do not have any impact on an athlete's regular season participation. All activities are conducted under stringent safety protocols which include all activities to be conducted outdoors, training to be conducted in pods of 6 or fewer student-athletes, masks being required at all times, social distancing and daily attestation and temperature checks by all coaches and athletes. All participating athletes must have their online Rank One paperwork completed, a current physical on file at the school and be cleared for participation by the Athletic Office.
As these guidelines impact each program differently and the availability of appropriate outdoor space is limited, not all programs are able to participate in these activities. If you have specific questions regarding opportunities, please contact the head coach of the program. Contact information for all current head coaches can be found via the links on the left.
2020-2021 Sport Season Start Dates (updated December 18, 2020)
Last month the WIAA announced that schools could begin competing in winter sports on February 1. However, leagues were given the authority by the WIAA board to develop a different plan to accommodate conditions in their area. Final approval of any plan rests with the WIAA and each Wesco superintendent. In reviewing current guidelines and Covid 19 data and a goal to provide a legitimate opportunity for all sports to have a chance to be played this year, Wesco Athletic Directors have proposed the following schedule.
February 22-April 3: Fall Sports (football, cross country, girls swim & dive, girls soccer, boys tennis, volleyball)
March 29-May 8: Spring Sports (baseball, fastpitch, track & field, girls tennis, boys & girls golf, boys soccer)
May 3-June 12: Winter Sports (boys & girls basketball, boys & girls wrestling, boys swim & dive)
The league will determine by February 1, if any of the fall sports will not be allowed to start on February 22 due to restrictions in place at that time. In the event a sport would not be able to start on February 22, that sport will be moved to one of the remaining seasons. In the event that most of the fall sports would not be able to begin on February 22, the league will look at offering all sports over a two season calendar beginning March 8.
As we have all learned during this pandemic, the best intended plans might still need to be modified, as is the case with these proposed dates. Any changes and any updates will posted here.

Sports Participation Clearance
Online paperwork is being accepted for the 2020-2021 school year. All athletes must be cleared by the Athletic Office prior to participating in sports (being compliant on Rank One does not clear an athlete for participation). Physicals must be valid through the entirety of the specific sport season (season dates are still to be determined).
Detailed requirements for clearance may be found using the link on the left - "Sports Sign Up Information."
To be eligible to tryout/practice, an athlete must be cleared by the Athletic Office at least one business day prior to the start date for that sport.
