FAFSA Completion Workshop
Please join us Thursday, February 8 6-8 p.m. in the Glacier Peak Library for a FAFSA/WASFA completion workshop. Families should bring: Driver's license/state ID if you have one, income information (bank statements, 2022 tax information, child support statements, etc), student and parent FSA ID, and student and parent social security number (if you have one). The evening will be drop-in workshop style to assist families in completing their FAFSA.
Nellie Martin Carman Scholarship
Glacier Peak High School may nominate two seniors for the Nellie Martin Carman Scholarship. If you would like your counselor to consider you for nomination, please complete this form. Awards for this scholarship range from $500 to $2,000 a year and are renewable for up to four years. For more information on the scholarship: https://carmanscholarships.org/. Students of Color Career Conference
EvCC’s Annual Students of Color Career Conference offers middle and high school students of color in the Snohomish County area a chance to learn from prominent local professionals of color. The conference is focused on students of color, but ALL students from western Washington high schools and middle schools are welcome to attend. Through keynote speakers, cultural sharing, and panel sessions, students will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with experienced professionals of color and reflect on their own future career aspirations. The SOCCC is March 21 from 8-2 p.m. GPHS will be providing a bus to take students to and from EvCC. Space is limited, if you are interested in attending the conference, please sign up here by 1/30. The Washington Opportunity Scholarship - Baccalaureate is now open!
Students pursuing a four-year STEM and health care degree at a Washington institution are now eligible to apply to the Washington Opportunity scholarship. This scholarship provides up to $22,500 in scholarship dollars and access to career-launching support services for high-demand STEM and health care majors. WSOS can cover costs beyond tuition such as housing, transportation, food, and more. Funding can be used for any eligible STEM or health care major at any eligible public or private college or university in Washington state. Interested students can learn more about income eligibility requirements, major requirements, and eligible institutions on the WSOS Baccalaureate Scholarship page. The deadline to apply is February 29 (including FAFSA).
Seniors! The Local Scholarship Program is opening in February, 2024
Class of 2024 seniors, prepare now to apply to the Local Scholarship Program (LSP) by creating a profile on the washboard.org. The LSP is a group of over 60 scholarships for GPHS seniors managed by the Snohomish Education Foundation. There are scholarships for students pursuing four-year, two-year, trade, tech, and apprenticeship pathways. Learn more about the program here. Scholarships do change year to year, but most remain the same. Proposed 2024 scholarship information is now available.
