Parent Involvement

  • Riverview Elementary School parents are involved and active in many different ways. Parents are active supporting learning activities in classrooms, working with small groups, reading with students, preparing materials and other support activities. Riverview also has an active and supportive Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), which also coordinates volunteers and supports our school through family activities and fundraisers. Their contributions are many! Another parent involvement opportunity is our WatchDog program which provides volunteer opportunities for dads, grandfathers and other significant adult males in our students' lives. WatchDOGS greet students as they arrive, participate in their child’s classroom, go to PE, recesses and lunch and provide a positive role model for our kids. All volunteers must go through a volunteer application process and background check.
