Traffic Safety Education
Traffic safety education classes are provided through a cooperative agreement with Northwest Educational Service District (NWESD). Classes are taught at Glacier Peak from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for eight‐week periods during the 2015‐2016 school year. A student must be 15 years of age to enroll in a class. In addition, the student drives one day a week during a three‐hour session. The driving lessons are scheduled on non‐classroom days, including Saturdays. NWESD offers a quality traffic safety education program featuring highly‐trained and skilled teachers. The teachers are committed to providing a good defensive driving course geared to meet the needs of all students. The classes are scheduled over eight or more school weeks (except for the five‐week summer quarter) so the students have me to learn the information and practice the skills needed to be safe drivers. The registration fee also includes the initial Department of Licensing (DOL) written knowledge examination and driving skills examination.
