Honors & Advanced Placement

  • Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses are meant to challenge students on a college level. All honors and AP courses are full-year courses. When signing up for them, please take their rigor and needed time commitment into account.  When a student opts to take an honors or AP course, he or she is committed to that choice for the entire school year.

At the end of an AP course, students may, for a fee, opt to take the corresponding AP examination which may result in college credit or waiver of prerequisites or requirements depending on the score of the test and the policies of the college or university to which the student applies. Taking an AP course is not a prerequisite for taking an AP exam.

A wide variety of Honors and AP courses and exams are offered within the district. AP course offerings may vary from year to year and are dependent on the number of students who enroll for the course. For additional information, please visit the College Board's website by clicking here.
