High School Planning
Each graduating class has a distinct list of curricular and assessment requirements that must be met in order to receive a Snohomish School District diploma. For a list of the specific requirements, see the appropriate graduating class on pages 5-6 of the Course Description Book. Please see the counselor for help in creating a graduation and after-high-school plan.
As part of the graduation requirement, all students must prepare a High School and Beyond Plan. In addition, students must complete eight hours of community service during their Senior year.
In order for a student to be prepared to apply to a four-year college or university, there are additional admissions requirements that must be fulfilled that are particular to each graduating year. Please refer to pages 7-9 in the Course Description Book.
For students who wish to jump-start their college careers, there are also many opportunities for students to receive college credit while still enrolled in high school. Please see pages 11-13 of the Course Description Book for information about these opportunities.
It is important to know that there are opportunities for students who have failed courses to make up credits outside of school hours. Retrieving the credits earlier rather than later will make it easier for students to stay on track and walk with their graduating class.
