Here are just a few of the Back-to-School dates for your calendar:
August 22 Business Day – Cathcart families come to school to update Emergency Forms, pay classroom fees (like IXL, Scholastic, etc), put money on their lunch accounts, learn about our Parent Organization and After-School Programs and find out who their teacher will be. Plan on stopping by the Cathcart gym anytime between 9:00-11:30am, 1:00-3:00pm or 6:00-7:30pm.
August 28 New Student Orientation - All families new to Cathcart are invited to attend New Student Orientation at 6:30pm. Mr. Anderson, our principal, will be leading a tour of the school and all students will have the opportunity to go on a short school bus ride.
August 29 – Meet the Teacher and Root Beer Social - Class Lists will be posted outside the library at 1:30pm. Meet the Teacher will be held in classrooms from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Cathcart Parent Organization will have a Root Beer Social and Open Recess on the playground from 3 to 4 p.m.
September 4 - First Day of School for Grades 1 – 6
September 4 – 6 Kindergarten Family Meetings (these will be scheduled on Business Day)
September 9 – 1st Day of School for Kindergarten Students
Science & Arts Academy Information
Inspire the mind and heart through the school district’s Science & Arts Academy! Amazing Race: Snohomish Edition! Sweet Sugar Science. Video Animation. World Music. Aeronautical Engineering. Reader's Theater. Floral Design. Babysitting Essentials. These are just some of the many exciting topics students entering grades 1 through 9 may investigate through the district’s summer program. This year’s Science & Arts Academy will run July 8 through July 25 at Snohomish High School (1315 Fifth Street in Snohomish).
2019-2020 kindergarten registration
Kindergarten registration has begun for children who will be five years old on or before August 31. Stop by the school office to complete your registration packet. Items you should bring with you in order to complete the registration packet include:
Orientation night for incoming Valley View Middle School 7th graders
Valley View Middle School invites all 6th grade students and their parents to the Valley Middle School Orientation at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, in the Valley View Middle School gym. Please join the Valley View Middle School team for a brief presentation in the gym at 6:30 p.m. about the classes, courses, opportunities, and programs offered at Valley View. The presentation will be followed by a self-guided tour of our school from 7-8 p.m. There is a special education gathering and presentation at 5:30 pm in the library, at this time resource and life skills groups will have break out sessions to learn more about the programs offered at Valley View. Valley View will have several classrooms open for parents, guardians and students to visit and teachers available for you to talk with as well.
