Students who qualify for middle school honors and are placed may choose one or more of the following honors classes: language arts, social studies and science. In the case where students are exceptionally high in only one area, they may be placed in their area of strength as determined by the multidisciplinary selection committee. Honors classes are accelerated when appropriate in content and process providing more rigorous learning opportunities through abstract thinking, complexity and depth.

Math placement is determined through the math department.

Sixth graders who are currently enrolled in the 4/5/6 highly capable program in the Snohomish School District do not need to test for middle school honors. Students will be automatically placed in all honors classes.
