AJAC Youth Apprenticeships
AJAC Youth Apprenticeship Program
Snohomish School District is pleased to partner with the AJAC Youth Apprenticeship Program. AJAC is a 2,000-hour program designed for high school juniors and seniors to develop career-ready skills in the aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries. The registered Production Technician Youth Apprenticeship program will give students:
- 2000 hours of paid on the job training
- 15 tuition free college credits
- College short-term certificate of completion and a recognized journey level credential from Washington State.
- Accelerated pathway allowing them to complete their adult apprenticeship early.
Students enrolled in or have previously completed Snohomish School District high school manufacturing or computer aided design (CADD) courses have the opportunity to apply for the program. Ask your manufacturing or CADD instructor or career center specialist for more information.

Girls Discover Stem

Experience hands-on engineering and scientific activities while encountering challenges that engage you with specific engineering and science disciplines. You will be assisted by current WSU Everett student mentors and WSU Everett faculty who will work with you through each session.

Bank of America Student Leader Program for Juniors and Seniors
Since 2004, Student Leaders has been part of our ongoing commitment to youth employment and economic mobility. Preparing a diverse pipeline of community-minded young students with the leadership training they need to be successful in the workforce is vital to our approach to responsible growth and helps to build thriving communities. Every year, through our Student Leaders program we help connect 225 community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service. They're awarded paid summer internships with local nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Habitat for Humanity and participate in a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C. The Student Leaders Summit focuses on skill building and creating a more civically engaged society. The 2019 Student Leaders application period will be open from November 4, 2019-January 31, 2020.

Biopath Internship Program
Launch your career in Biotech. AGC Biologics is offering a BioPath Internship Program that will provide a combination of theoretical training and hands-on floor work. Theoretical and practical activities include GMP basics/concepts, a general understanding of science, operations basics, and planned experiments. They offer hourly compensation, plus school credit - approximately 180 hours per school year. Applications open April 1 for the following school year. Central Sound Regional Science and Engineering Fair
Open to all 9th - 12th grade students. The Central Sound Regional Science & Engineering Fair (CSRSEF) is an annual science and engineering competition for 9th-12th grade students in King and Snohomish Counties in Washington state. The CSRSEF encourages and rewards innovative student research and provides professional scientists and engineers the chance to interact with some of the best and brightest young students in the greater Seattle/Everett region.

Fred Hutch Summer High School Internship Program
The Summer High School Internship Program (SHIP) is an eight-week, full-time paid internship for rising 12th graders. Selected interns attend an orientation day, then begin the internship with one week of hands-on training on laboratory safety techniques and skills in the Fred Hutch Training Labs. The remaining seven weeks consists of supervised shadowing and training in a Fred Hutch host mentor’s research lab. Interns also attend weekly workshops and seminars and make a presentation during the final week. SHIP gives students from backgrounds underrepresented in biomedical research the opportunity to explore, clarify, and strengthen their research-related career interests.We encourage all applicants to learn more about our research areas and scientific divisions. Applicants should ensure they meet the eligibility requirements (below) and we recommend assembling application materials early, even before the application opens.

Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program
Our Summer Immersion Program is a free seven-week introductory computer science program for 10th-11th grade girls going into their junior or senior year of high school. During the seven-week program, participants learn about computer science, gain exposure to tech jobs, and join a sisterhood of girls who are using computer science to become change-makers.

Providence High School Summer Program
The summer program is a key component to Providence’s mission of caring for the poor and vulnerable. Additionally, we hope that this experience will help the students:
- Increase their awareness of the healthcare field as a potential career path.
- Apply sound decision-making and problem-solving skills within their volunteer position while receiving supportive coaching and mentoring from staff.
- Practice key communication skills in a diverse environment made up of patients, family members, visitors and staff from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.
We are confident that after completion of the high school summer program, students will feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in having achieved a goal while enriching the lives of our patients, visitors and staff.

Seattle Aquarium Youth Ocean Advocate
Youth Ocean Advocates must be enrolled in grades 9–12 in a high school, Running Start or homeschool program at time of application.
We have a limited number of positions to fill each school year and summer. Potential Youth Ocean Advocates must attend one of our orientation sessions. After you attend the online orientation, you’ll receive an application to fill out and return to the Aquarium. From the applicant pool, we’ll select individuals to interview for the program. Positions are filled based upon the applicant’s interview performance and application. We will be hosting orientation sessions in early spring to prepare for our summer volunteer session. Union Summer
Union Summer is the paid ($17/hour) summer internship program of the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO and its affiliated unions for people interested in getting involved in the labor movement. Union Summer participants will spend an exciting seven weeks — June to August — working full-time and hands-on with different campaigns, talking to our community, marching for justice, and gaining first-hand experience in the movement.

UW College of Engineering Mathematics Academy
Math Academy is an intensive, four-week residential session held on the Seattle UW campus in summer. Students engage in coursework created by UW math faculty and designed to develop the skills necessary to meet the high standards of college-level math and engineering. Students also have enrichment opportunities to explore the range of career opportunities available to engineers through lab tours, research projects, site visits and networking events. The Mathematics Academy accepts current juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA who will complete pre-calculus by the end of their junior year. The Math Academy program is free for student participants.

UW Materials Science Summer Day Camp
ASM Materials Camp allows high school students to experience the exciting field of material science in a hands on way. Students have access to high-tech equipment and professional mentors to help them tackle real problems facing the field today. Hands on material science. Look at how materials perform by bending, stretching, and crushing them until they break. See how different materials are made and how they are formed into the things we use every day. Materialsmentors are practicing engineers from local companies. Small groups of four to five students will team up with a Mentor and work on projects at the UW Materials Science & Engineering department and at the research facilities of the mentor's company.

Grant County Fire District #3 Resident Firefighter Program
The primary intent of the program is to provide a positive experience, opportunity and training to young men and women interested in pursuing a career in the fire service. Criteria: Minimum of 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, have a valid Washington State drivers license, have an acceptable and insurable driving record, have proper documents to be employable in the USA, pass a post acceptance physical and drug screen, pass an entrance level written and physical agility test, be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
