Educational Specification Committees

  • What exactly are educational specifications?
Educational specifications, or ed specs are one of the first steps in designing a new school. We bring together teachers, staff, parents and community members to determine the programs and spaces necessary to provide the best possible education to an age group of the community’s students. During the ed specs process, the architects develop concept designs. These designs and the proposed ed specs are shared with the school community. Once the School Board approves the ed specs, they are used to design buildings that support the district’s educational program.
