The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) career assessment test is provided at least once a year at SHS, at no charge to students. The duration of the test will last for 1-3 hours, depending on the student. Results from this test may spur students into a specific program of study at an institution or guide them onto a career pathway. The test is divided into sections, much like the ACT/SAT. The sections are divided into math, English and vocational. The results will be interpreted by an ASVAB Career Exploration Program personnel at Snohomish High School a few weeks after the test. For students considering a military career, this test is also used as an assessment tool for job placement. Military personnel are involved in administering this test. Contact the College & Career Center for more information.
