About Machias Elementary

  • Welcome to Machias Elementary, home of the Bobcats! We are located north of the City of Snohomish and are part of the Snohomish School District. Our teachers, support staff and parents work together to help every student become the best they can be in a safe, friendly, fun community.

Our school has about 500 kindergartners through 6th graders. Our students will attend Centennial Middle School in 7th and 8th grade and Snohomish High School in grades 9 though 12.

Thank you for taking time to find out more about Machias Elementary!

    Mission statement
Our mission at Machias Elementary is to create an environment which promotes life-long learning and, with our community, share the responsibilities of preparing children for life.

    School colors and mascot
Machias school colors are blue and white. Our mascot is the bobcat. The colors and mascot were chosen by our students in the 1980s.

    Student program
Machias school emphasizes a comprehensive academic program designed to meet the needs of each individual student. In addition to traditional classrooms, a variety of supplemental programs, including a highly capable classroom, a resource room, the learning assistance program, the English language learner program, speech services and occupational/physical therapy services, help meet a wide range of student needs. Classrooms are also supported by a librarian, a music specialist and a physical education specialist.

    Parent involvement
Machias Elementary is fortunate to be supported by a very active and committed PTG (parent teacher group). Our PTG meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in our library. New members are always welcome!
