High School and Beyond Plan
What is a High School and Beyond Plan?
The High School and Beyond Plan is a graduation requirement for every student in Washington state. It is a personalized process that helps students, families, and educators work together to plan for high school and life after graduation.
A High School and Beyond Plan helps students:
- Explore their interests, strengths, and goals
- Make plans for their high school experience
- Think about careers and opportunities after graduation
- Identify education, training, or career pathways that match their goals
- Set goals and track their progress
- Make decisions about their future as their interests and plans develop
The High School and Beyond Plan is one of three components students must complete to earn a Washington high school diploma:

SchooLinks
Starting this school year, Snohomish School District students in grades 7–12 will use SchooLinks to complete and maintain their High School and Beyond Plan.
SchooLinks is an online planning platform that helps students explore their interests, discover career and education options, set goals, and plan for life after high school.
Through SchooLinks, students can:
- Explore careers based on their interests and strengths
- Learn about colleges, apprenticeships, trade schools, military pathways, and other options after high school
- Complete interest and skills surveys
- Take virtual college and workplace tours
- Participate in financial literacy activities
- Create digital resumes and portfolios
- Record experiences, achievements, internships, and volunteer activities
- Set and track goals throughout middle and high school
- Connect with counselors and other staff as they plan for their future
Students are encouraged to revisit their interests, goals, and plans throughout middle and high school as their experiences and plans change.
Accessing SchooLinks
Student access begins August 31, 2026, through HelloID.
Parents and guardians will also be able to create their own SchooLinks accounts so they can support their student's planning and goal-setting at home.
