Guest Wireless Network

Purpose

Provide public access to the internet across the entire district through a secure and filtered wireless network.

Compliance with Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA)

The district’s network is fully compliant with CIPA, ensuring that our Internet access is safe and appropriate for all users.

Accessing the network

You can connect with any personal device that has wireless capabilities.

  • Search for the Wi-Fi network named "BYOD-SSD" on your device.

This network is filtered to prevent access to harmful or inappropriate content, in line with CIPA guidelines.

Troubleshooting

For common wireless issues, please try the following steps before reporting an issue:

  • Restart your device: Sometimes, simply restarting your device can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Forget and reconnect to the network: Go to your device's Wi-Fi settings, forget the "BYOD-SSD" network, and then reconnect to it.
  • Check for device updates: Ensure your device is up-to-date with the latest software and drivers.
  • Distance from access points: Move closer to a Wi-Fi access point to ensure a stronger signal.

Support/reporting issues

  • Checking network status: If you don’t see BYOD-SSD, check with others nearby to determine if the issue is isolated to your device or affecting others as well.
  • Reporting network issues: If the network is down for multiple people, please report this to your school.  A staff member should be able to open a ticket through the technology support ticketing system.
