Greetings from your school counselor, Libbie Moshier. Please feel free to contact me at any time, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 360 563-2906.
My role at Little Cedars is varied: I give lessons on various Social Emotional Learning topics in classrooms, see students individually and in small groups, facilitate conflict resolution between students, consult with teachers, provide resources, meet with parents and families, and organize a leadership program called Kindness Coaches.
I have my own Canvas page, where you will find lots of information for both students and parent/guardians on topics such as dealing with feelings, calming strategies, "Growth Mindset", social services resources, family issues, and the like. Also there are my archived weekly newsletters. All students have received an invite to the page that must be accepted to gain access. You can view it by logging in as your student.
Fall '20 update: I will mostly be working remotely for now, but still receive vm from my office number. If you or your child would like to chat by phone, or schedule a Zoom meeting with me, please leave me a msge or email with some good times, and I will call you. I will be in class Zooms from time to time, and also will be setting up some small group Zooms for some students on specific topics.
Looking forward to connecting with many of you this year!

Second Step Curriculum
We are pleased to inform you that Little Cedars is implementing the Second Step curriculum for social-emotional learning skills, school-wide. Each grade level has lessons in the areas of: Skills for Learning, Empathy, Emotion Management, and Problem-Solving.
Please see the letters below describing the program in more detail. The letter includes grade-specific family codes for you to use to access great information and supplemental resources from Second Step. Your child’s classroom teacher will be teaching these lessons throughout the year.
Additionally, we will be continuing the supplemental Bully Prevention (grades 3-5) and Child Protection lessons (K, 2 and 5th grades) associated with this program. These are taught by our counselor, Libbie Moshier at different times of the year. You will receive (or already have received) a similar family letter about those programs before they are due to begin in your student’s class.
Please direct any questions about Second Step to your child’s teacher, and any questions about the Bully Prevention or Child Safety Units to Libbie Moshier.
