Season Three Girls Basketball and Wrestling

Valley View Season Three-Girls Basketball and Wrestling

Sign-ups for both wrestling and girls’ basketball are located outside of the main office on the athletics table.  Before a student may try out for a sport, they must have a current physical on file and paperwork must be completed online through Rank One Sports.  See attached documents for Rank One instructions and a physical form.

    Interest meetings

Informational meetings for students will be held during the last 15 minutes of both lunches in the Viking Hall on the following days:

    Wrestling - Wednesday, January 16th

    Girls Basketball-Monday, January 14th

Girls’ Basketball – Tryouts for the 7th and 8th grade teams will be on January 22nd and 23rd.  Coaches will let the students know who is on the team prior to practice on the 24th.

Wrestling does not have tryouts.  All students who choose to be on the team will make the team.

The first practice/tryout for all grade levels will be on Tuesday, January 22nd.

Girls’ basketball practices will always be Monday – Thursday from 2:20-4:00 pm on every day when there is not a game.

Wrestling practices will be Monday – Thursday from 2:20-4:00 pm at Valley View, with some Friday practices at Glacier Peak High School.  Coach Gere will provide students on the wrestling team with a practice calendar once the season has begun.

Girls’ basketball games occur on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning on February 11th.  8th Graders will play at 4pm on Mondays, and 7th graders will play at 5:15pm on Mondays.  For Wednesday games, 7th graders will play at 4pm, and 8th graders will play at 5:15pm.  If the game is a home game, we encourage those playing at 5:15 to go home and return at 4:45. If that isn’t a possibility, please inform the coach so after school supervision can be arranged through our Student Support Center.

Beginning on February 6th, varsity wrestling matches are on Wednesdays at 4pm.  Junior varsity matches are on Thursdays at 4pm.  There is a varsity wrestling tournament at the end of the season that will start at 3:30pm.
