Snohomish Summer Internships

Give your student a competitive edge! Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) summer internships offer real-world experience, building skills learned in high school and connecting with local businesses. Internships significantly boost post-secondary success:

• 20% higher training/education completion rates.
• More job offers: Interns receive over twice as many job offers compared to non-interns.
• Higher starting salaries: Interns earn 10% more on average.

Students interested in the summer internships need to be 2024-2025 sophomores or juniors and at least 16-years-old. Students will need to provide their own transportation to the internship sites. 

Internship details: 60-hour placements starting the week of July 8 (exceptions apply; see job descriptions).

• First and Main real estate in downtown Snohomish – Marketing and real estate
• Historic Downtown Snohomish, a nonprofit in downtown Snohomish – Non-profit event management and digital marketing
• North Sound Media in downtown Everett – Broadcasting, event management and digital marketing
• Snohomish Education Foundation, a nonprofit in downtown Snohomish – Marketing and event management
• Snohomish Farmers Market, a nonprofit in downtown Snohomish – Children’s education and programming, digital marketing
• Snohomish Food Bank, a nonprofit in Snohomish – Non-profit event management and digital marketing, or sustainable agriculture
• Snohomish Strength and Conditioning (previously CrossFit Snohomish) in Clearview – Fitness training
• The Goddard School at Seattle Hill – Early childhood education

The internships are supervised by either the business owner, or someone assigned by the business owner, with students also being supported by Brian Burdon, district CTE director.

Take a look at the linked internship descriptions above and see which one aligns with what you are most interested in. Students are not yet 18 will also need to have your parent/guardian sign the internship description and turn it in to the counseling office at their school.

Other important dates and information:

• Internship descriptions will be open for student application beginning March 10.
• Interviews with the employer and Brian Burdon, district CTE director, will take place beginning April 16.
• A worksite meeting with the student, internship supervisor from the company, and Brian Burdon will take place in June.
• Internships will begin July 7.

• Snohomish Education Foundation will be supplying each intern with a $50 gas card. Students who complete the internships will have preference for SEF CTE scholarships.

• Non-profit business internships can count toward community service hours.
