ECEAP
Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP)
Snohomish School District's Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is a state-funded, free preschool for limited-income families. ECEAP is designed to provide a comprehensive early childhood program for preschool children and their families. If your child resides within the Snohomish School District boundaries or is highly mobile, such as migrant or homeless, they may be eligible for the ECEAP program.
ECEAP provides a nurturing environment for the preschooler by offering educational experiences designed to help children develop social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills. Classroom curriculum is planned to create a learning environment that encourages reading and math readiness skills through classroom work areas such as the writing, science, library, block and art areas as well as the water, sand, wood and house areas. In this type of learning environment, the children can move at their own pace, learn to make age-appropriate choices and experience success as they use a wide variety of play materials.
ECEAP also offers nutritional and health services for the pre-schooler by offering hot lunches and nutritious snacks daily and providing a wide variety of health screenings.
As a family-centered program, ECEAP provides a variety of opportunities for parent involvement as well as parent education. Community resources and referral information is also available to assist families. The goal of ECEAP is to provide a stimulating and fun educational experience that assists families and their preschool children for a successful transition into kindergarten.
