Emergencies & School Messenger

  • Emergencies

Snohomish School District has procedures in place to deal with emergencies that may arise at school. We have close relationships with local emergency management, police, fire and health agencies who keep us informed and work with us in event of a disaster or other emergency situation. Staff and students regularly participate in fire, earthquake, evacuation and lockdown drills, so everyone is prepared to respond quickly if necessary.

For more information about the district's emergency preparedness, contact the Communications office at 360-563-7263.

    School Messenger

Our district uses the School Messenger automated system as a tool for communication with our parents, families and staff. (Note: This is the tool being used to send this message.) School Messenger works with the district’s student-data system (Skyward/Family Access) to notify families and staff through phone and/or email of emergencies, school/district closures, inclement weather, attendance issues, underfunded student lunch accounts and other events/activities. The overall goal of using this service is for parents and families to receive important information about Snohomish schools - especially information that affects their children - in a timely manner.

As long as we have accurate primary phone numbers and emails on record for our students in Skyward/Family Access, families should automatically receive these messages when they are sent out. Please make sure this information is accurate when reviewing your student’s demographic sheet that was distributed at the start of school.
