Sexual health education and human growth and development information
5th and 6th Grade - Human Growth and Development will be taught each year during 5th and 6th grade. There are four lessons per grade level and the topics include puberty, reproductive system and HIV/AIDS. Specific lessons have been adopted from the Elementary F.L.A.S.H Curriculum for Snohomish students. Families will be invited to attend a district presentation to learn about the health standards, activities and resources that will be used to teach each of the topics. There will also be time provided to ask and answer questions. The district presentations will be held at the Resource and Service Center (1601 Avenue D in Snohomish).

Middle school and high school - Community members are invited to review middle school and high school sexual health education materials being considered for adoption. To review the materials, visit the district's Teaching and Learning Services Department at the Resource and Service Center (1601 Avenue D in Snohomish) between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on March 19 to March 30. There is also a community forum on Wednesday, March 21, from 6-7 p.m. at the district office (1601 Avenue D in Snohomish) to provide you with another opportunity to review the materials, hear about the standards that will be taught, and ask questions.
