Capital, maintenance, and custodial teams complete impressive list of summer projects

Join us in a huge shout out to our capital, maintenance, and custodial teams who were incredibly busy this summer! Projects and work completed over the break included:
  • 548 work orders were completed.
  • The new modular district maintenance building was set on the foundation and the final stages of completion are currently underway. This building will replace the older portables that were demolished in 2021 due to structural and safety reasons.
  • Double classroom portables were relocated from Riverview Elementary to Machias Elementary and Seattle Hill Elementary to Dutch Hill Elementary.
  • A bathroom modular was purchased and installed at Dutch Hill Elementary. Final inspection is expected in the near future.
  • A divider curtain was installed in the multipurpose room at Dutch Hill Elementary to allow for multiple specialist classes at one time and for lunch and PE class to happen simultaneously.
  • Roof top HVAC units were replaced at Totem Falls Elementary and Cascade View Elementary.
  • The awnings and balcony at Glacier Peak High School were cleaned and painted.
  • At Cascade View Elementary, the exterior roof fascia was replaced and the exterior classroom doors were repainted.
  • The roof of the outdoor undercover play area at Cathcart Elementary was replaced.
  • The HVAC control system at Dutch Hill Elementary was upgraded.
  • 63 AEDs were checked district-wide.
  • Gutters, downspouts, and facia board at the Parkway Campus were replaced.
  • 3,072 HVAC filter changes and mechanical reviews were completed district-wide.
  • Central Emerson Elementary (Emerson Campus) classrooms and library were updated.
  • Parking lots were restriped at multiple campuses.
  • Two hot water tanks at Snohomish High School were replaced with new tankless systems.
  • Commercial Fire conducted their annual confidence testing of fire systems and fire extinguishers throughout the district.
  • Septic tanks were pumped throughout the district.
  • A safer walking pathway was created in the parking lot area at the Parkway Campus.
  • All emergency generators were inspected, serviced, and filled with fuel in preparation for the upcoming storm season.
  • 130 cubic yards (11 dump trucks) of play chips were delivered, and more than half of that supply was installed at all elementary school playgrounds.
  • On the custodial side, the team refinished gym floors, cleaned all buildings, supported district summer school programs, power washed exterior general areas and sidewalks, provided assistance for more than 62 elementary classroom moves at multiple schools, and washed windows at Valley View Middle School and Snohomish High School.
A special thanks to our community for its continued support of our district, schools, programs, and projects!
