Criteria
The Washington State School Retirees' Association (WSSRA) invites high school seniors who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply for the Robert J. Handy and WSSR Foundation scholarships. These awards are given to students who plan to have a career in the “field of education”.
Statewide sixteen (16) WSSR – Foundation Scholarships and sixteen (16) PEMCO/ Robert J. Handy Scholarships will be awarded to students whose degree would be in one of these areas: teacher, counselor, speech therapist, occupational therapist, or psychologist.For the WSSR-Foundation, one $2,500 award and one $1,500 award will be granted in each of the eight WSSRA regions. For Handy, two $900 scholarships (redeemable for four years) will be awarded in each of the eight WSSRA regions.

The scholarship application must be filled-out online, printed and mailed to WSSRA, PO Box 5127, Lacey, WA 98509 For an application to be considered it must be in approved form, with directions followed precisely and mailed and postmarked by March 1
