District families -

We are deeply saddened about a situation that happened today after the homecoming court selection at Glacier Peak High School. While we celebrated the coronation of our court, discriminatory social media posts and subsequent comments spread throughout our student body, impacting specific students.

We do not approve of nor do we accept these actions and are committed to ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. We honor and value the lives of each and every student, staff, and community member regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, neurodiversity, social class or disability.

Thank you for standing with me and your district as we move forward in continuing to provide the best teaching and learning environment for our students.
