ParentSquare & StudentSquare

What is ParentSquare?
ParentSquare is an easy-to-use communication tool that combines multiple communication streams into one interface for families, staff, and students. ParentSquare is a district and school tool or non-instructional communication. Skyward/Family Access and Canvas will remain the district and school tools for instructional communication. Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare this year:
  • Receive information from the school via email, text, phone call, or mobile app notification
  • Two-way messaging with translation between staff and families/students
  • Choose to receive information as it comes, or all at once at 6 p.m. daily
  • Communicate in your preferred language

Please note that not all Snohomish School District teachers/staff are using ParentSquare to message or for classroom communication this year (2024-2025).

How does ParentSquare work?
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent/guardian using the email address and phone number we have listed for each parent/guardian for your child in Skyward/Family Access. Individuals who choose to not activate their account in ParentSquare will still receive an email digest at the end of each day regarding any communication that has been sent out to them. In the event of emergencies, communication will be delivered as well. That said, we encourage all to activate their accounts and download the mobile app to utilize the full functionality of the tool. By activating your account, you can also update your preferences on when and how you are notified.
