Helpful Hints from SHS

  • Attendance: Save time by submitting your student’s absence online (within 48 hours of absence) on the Attendance tab of Skyward/Family Access. For early release, please leave the attendance office a voicemail the day prior, to ensure your student is dismissed on time.
  • Athletics: Does your student love to be active? We offer several sports, from football to badminton. Join a sport this year!
  • Clubs & Activities: Encourage your student to join one or more of the clubs/activities offered. Most meetings are at school, during Panther Period, between 2nd and 3rd period, once a month. There’s something for everybody!
  • Payments/Purchases: Did you know you can pay for the ASB card, athletic fees, lunch account, fines, etc. through InTouch? Make it easy on you and your student by paying online! (Found under Payments & Purchases on the SHS website)
  • Skyward: Review your student’s academic progress from home, office, or mobile device. See current grades, missing assignments, GPA, etc. (Detailed information can be found on the SSD website under Parents, Skyward/Family Access)
  • Canvas: Through Canvas you can access your student’s assignment details, grades, due date, submission time, etc. (Detailed information can be found on the SSD website under Parents, Tech Tips – Parent/Student)
  • Daily Bulletin: Stay in the know through the SHS Daily Bulletin. If you want to know what’s going on at your student’s school, sign up today through Listserv!
  • College & Career: Does your student have a career in mind? Not sure yet? It’s all part of the journey. We have a College and Career Center at SHS to help with any questions you or your student might have.
  • Counseling: Do you have questions about your student’s education/career beyond HS, improving academic performance, class concerns, personal, etc.? Our counseling center is here to help!
  • Emailing a teacher: Questions, concerns or just let a teacher know you’re here to support your student’s success … Send the teacher’s an email. All emails can be found on our website under Staff Directory, or it is simply the teachers: firstname.lastname@sno.wednet.edu.
