We want to share an early update about the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school year calendars. In both years, Labor Day falls unusually late in September. Following our traditional after-Labor-Day start would extend the school year into late June.

In recent years, several of our neighboring school districts have shifted their first day of school to the week prior to Labor Day. To align with our region and account for the late Labor Day falls in 2026 and 2027, the Snohomish School District will also begin the school year the week prior to Labor Day for both the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years.

We recognize how important advance notice is for family planning, and we appreciate your flexibility. The start and end dates and other key breaks for both school years are outlined below. As remaining calendar details are finalized in the coming months, we will continue to share updates with families.

2026-2027
